Fernwood Cove – 6/25Posted by on June 26, 2016

Today’s Blog was written by 7th Grade Bunk Mom and Ropes Counselor, Julia.

Hello Fernwood Cove family! It was absolutely gorgeous here in Maine today as we began our first day of activities! As reveille (performed by one of our own campers) was played, some girls had already made the exciting journey up to the Chick to check their schedule for this week. In my 7th grade bunk, we had so many different and amazing activities covering everything from stand-up paddling to vocal performance to field hockey. A few girls in my bunk even had my personal favorite activities: climbing and ropes course. During our morning and afternoon ropes course lessons, the girls participated in some high energy name games and team building activities before moving on to some of our low-ropes elements. The girls did an amazing job working together and communicating so that everyone was able to make it across the ropes. We’re planning on exploring and progressing up to the newly built high ropes course in the next few days!

Lunchtime today began with getting brand new table assignments. As we have been sitting by bunk for the first few meals this summer, it was super fun to get to know people from different age groups and hear about their mornings. After a delicious meal from our new head chef, Keith, the campers returned to their bunk for rest hour full and excited for their afternoon activities. It was a very hot day here so before heading out to focuses we reapplied that sunblock and filled up our water bottles.

After dinner tonight, we split into age groups for an awesome night of activities. From the 7th grade’s spot on the soccer field, we saw campers playing on the tennis courts and heard screams of excitement from the flag pole. It was a very eventful and exciting day in the extraordinary world and everyone is resting now so tomorrow can be even better.

Goodnight FC family!
