Fernwood Cove – 7/24Posted by on July 25, 2016

Sunday’s Blog was written by 4th Grade Bunk Mom and Climbing Counselor, Marlene.

Today was the second day of activities in Session 2. The weather was amazing. The day started with our usual routine with getting up at 7:15 in the morning, breakfast and bunk clean up. The girls are so excited to get the bunk as tidy as possible, because everyone is looking forward to getting the little moose necklace for the neatest bunk. For me it’s always such a nice thing when the girls run towards me, when I come back from my climbing lesson, and tell me excitedly that we got another 20 (out of 20) from Mamma Deb for clean up.

Because of the thunderstorm yesterday a few of the girls in climbing, climbed for the first time again after a year or even the first time in their lives. That’s always the most exciting thing to see, when the girls experience something totally new, and I see their eyes glowing because they want to do it again.

Tonight on Gourmet Sandwich Sunday, the dinner was unsurprisingly delicious sandwiches! There was a selection of fine bread, meats, cheeses, condiments and pasta salad. Afterwards we were all ready for the evening program, which was the newspaper fashion show! Every bunk had to dress up one of their bunk mums or bunk aunt as a certain disney character, only using newspaper and tape.

I was surprised how much you can create with using nothing more than newspaper. It turned out that it can be super funny as well. In our bunk, our bunk aunt, Chelsea was dressed up as Cruella de Vil. It was a great day had by all!
