Fernwood Cove – 7/26Posted by on July 27, 2016

Tuesday’s Blog was written by 7th Grade Buncle and Gymnastics Counselor, Brice.

Fernwood Cove did it once again, the perfect day. This morning we all woke up to an amazing breakfast of eggs, toast and country fried potatoes.

After breakfast, the whole camp split into 9 group of 20 ladies, all paired with their Cove Sister. Cove Sisters are your camp big or little sister. Each camper has a cove sister and has the opportunity to be both the little and big cove sister over the years. There were stations set up all over camp and every station was a different activity of team building and fun games.

In the afternoon we had community service, some ladies left camp to perform community task around the area, such as visiting Partners for World Heath, Food Bank and the LEA (Lakes Environmental Association). There were some who stayed in camp and spent their time helping to make Fernwood Cove a bit more extraordinary. There were groups helping pick fresh vegetables from the garden, helping the new maple syrup field, and building bike ramps. There were a few groups who spent their time making Soy Candles for babies in the NICU. Overall, an incredibly inspiration afternoon, completing over 500 hours of community service! No matter what was going on the girls loved making the place they call home a better place for themselves and for future kids to come.

Overall today was an amazing day here in the 04040. Thanks for taking your time to read the blog of the day, have an extraordinary day!
