Lazyyyyyy Friday

Always a day looked forward to by campers, allowing them a nice lay in, before making their way up to a buffet style breakfast filled with donuts, pastry’s and toast to name just a few.

Following breakfast we all met for flag raising and birthday announcements on a very warm Friday morning.

7th Grade held service today in the Chick, with everyone dressed in white with their topic focusing on emotions. They discussed charades style games they had played throughout the week and how easy they guessed your every day objects and electrical appliances, however when it came to feelings and emotions it became very difficult. “Every single one of us experiences a whole host of emotions in one day; however we can assume someone may be sad when actually they’re lonely.” They based their service on the film Inside Out, with each camper all speaking in front of everyone confidently going through emotions of joy, sadness, fear, hope, and surprise.

The rest of the morning allowed for extended clean up within the campers bunks making sure beds were made, floors were swept and clothes were all put away. Once this was all completed we all got ourselves out into the sun all sun creamed up and water bottles filled, allowing some quality time with the bunk family playing silly games and making friendship bracelets.

After our  thanks giving lunch our Flamingo girls had their opportunity to put all their planning of Senior Surprise into action, themed ‘All around the world’. Today was definitely one of the highlights of camp so far, having different countries/activities around camp including Egypt for mummy races, Hawaii for a luau (lei making!) Great Britain for a bake off, Antarctica for a slip and slide (Penguin Plunge), Mexico for a fiesta!

Overall, the girls were all amazing, giving so much enthusiasm within each activity, planning and organizing everything really really well, with each and every camper all having a fun filled day.

For dinner tonight we had Camp Councilor cooked Burgers for the camp allowing Chef Kieth an evening off. These were very tasty with campers all running up for seconds and thirds as we watched the clouds descend upon us.

Evening program tonight kick started our color war between Green and White in a huge dance off between each grade and then councilors and CIT’s at the end.  The first winning team of the summer by a whisker went to the Green team with some hard fought dancing going on by all. And again another shout out to the flamingos for leading the way and getting everyone pumped with the moves.

Today has been yet another great day at FC, and I’m already looking forward to tomorrow where our campers will start their second week of activities.

Over and Out!
