Fernwood Cove – 7/3Posted by on July 04, 2016

Sunday’s Blog was written by 7th Grade Bunk Mom and Swimming Counselor, Caroline.

Hey FC Families!  Today was a gorgeous day at Fernwood Cove, sunny and cloudless and over 80 degrees!  The kids woke up excited for their second day of the new week of focus activities.  Breakfast was a classic – pancakes and syrup – enjoyed by all.  As the morning activities went on, from atop the lifeguard tower, the whole camp looked to be having an EXTRAORDINARY day.  Lunch was a hearty meat n’ potatoes, with everyone’s favorite for dessert…COOKIES!

Focuses continued in the afternoon, as did the fabulous weather.  My swimming classes enjoyed the refreshing lake on this hot day, and my water aerobics classes enjoyed some guest appearances when a few bunk uncles joined in our dances!

Evening Program was a night everyone’s been looking forward to all summer…MISS FERNWOOD COVE!  The girls dressed up their bunk uncles in tutus, wigs, and makeup, and the buncles competed for the coveted title of Miss Fernwood Cove.  Amazing talent was seen by all; the sixth grade won the talent competition with an impressively coordinated dance that included ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop moves…who knew our buncles were such dancers!  Other favorites included “Best Hair,” won by buncles sporting pigtails and French braids; and of course, the winners, Penguin (8th grade) and Flamingo (9th grade) buncles, who wowed with their duet of “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.

The girls went to bed buzzing from this exciting EP, and ready for another busy day of focus activities tomorrow!
