Thursday’s Blog was written by 4th Grade Bunk Mom and Sailing Counselor, Fili.

Today was the last day of focuses of Week 2. As usual reveille was at 7.15 am, but we always wake up a few minutes before. Everyone is super excited for breakfast. The 1st Focus starts right after everyone has cleaned up in their bunks. They fill their water bottles up and apply as much sunscreen as possible. The kids cannot wait to leave the bunk, they are very excited for today’s first focus – also the last focus day of the week – that some are already sitting in front of the bunk on the porch.

As Focus 1 has ended, if they have time before the next focus, the girls run back to their bunks to check how many points they have got from Mamma Deb for the tidiness of their beds, cubbies, clothes line and how well they swept up in the bunk. Focus 2, I have Reading under the tree, where the kids are surrounded by nature and can read their books in a calm environment with their friends and make Friendship bracelets, which is a great hit every summer!!! HURRAY! The brakes between Focuses are for the children to get from one side of the camp, lets say Climbing, to the other which is where they sail, with Will, Caitlin and me.:) In Focus 3, as it is their last day, it is Free Sail day, we put out two buoys for them to practice what they have learnt throughout the past week. Today we observe them from the Whaler, from which we help and support them. The wind was perfect at this time of the day.

Lunchtime has come and everyone is heading to the Feeder. We sit down when we hear the piano, then sing a song chosen by our CITs and wait for Chef Keith to announce today’s meal. Which was chicken, rice and broccoli, YUMM! For dessert we had jello mixed with marshmallows. Then comes…

Rest hour, which is the best part of the day, because we all get to spend time with our bunk families, hang out, talk about how much fun we are having and how many new things we have learnt JUST TODAY!

Life guarding is my Focus 4 where our job is to pay attention to all kids doing sports at the waterfront. We can see everyone having an amazing time. All counselors taking care of their children in each focus. The last two focuses is sailing again, the wind subsided, but we keep practicing to make sure that what we have learned remains forever with the kids. After the last focus the girls are queuing up in front of the shower cabins or are eager to go Dip in the water of the pond and play on the trampoline. The girls are also able to pet the baby bunnies, which are all so cute and fluffy, one of them almost put him inside the Bob2016RevolutionFlex stroller to take it home.

When everyone is nice and clean, we have dinner in front of the Feeder, everyone sitting with their Bunk Families and at the same time we are all together as a whole. Tonight was PIZZA NIGHT, which the girls were suppper EXCITED for. There were non left, obviously. Tonight’s Evening Program was Performance Night, where all the girls get to show what they have learned in Guitar, Percussion, Vocal Theater, Theater, Dance and Gymnastics. We had an amazing time, everyone cheered and clapped for everyone, the girls did a great job!

Taps goes off at 9 pm, this is when everyone is already in their bunks, sharing their best moments of the day with each other, before going to bed.
