Fernwood Cove – 8/1Posted by on August 03, 2016

Monday’s Blog was written by 7th Grade Bunk Mom and Wakeboard/Waterski Counselor, Tess.

Today’s extraordinary weather brought us some liquid sunshine and a cool change but that didn’t slow the girls down at all. All were up bright and early for flag raising with their contagious smiles breaking through the overcast day. Tummies were filled with pancakes at breakfast, always a crowd favourite as lunch and dinner were to follow with a Mexican fiesta theme.

Counselor skits followed breakfast to promote their allocated mini course for tonight’s evening program. From painting pet rocks, Chinese children dancing, stained glass pendants and sushi making, to swim to the island, making fairy houses with Jim and martial arts, the girls rushed out to get their pick of the bunch. With so many choices some found it difficult to decide and in the end came to the conclusion that no matter what they did it would be fun as they had their friends by their side to give it a go and share some laughs!

The lake water turned to luke warm bath temperature as the girls jumped on in and made the most of their activities before trip day tomorrow. Trips were posted after lunch as the girls bustled on down to see what tomorrow’s adventures would bring. Excitement was in the air as they found new friends and imagined the fun the day would bring. Day three of activities kicked off smoothly and cruised on through. The girls making it seem like they had been doing the activities for many summers. Norway lake was flat as a tack as the girls showed off their developing slalom skills. Some celebrating getting up for the first time and others really getting the rooster tails going on their turns.

Dinner was moved inside again tonight due to the extended liquid sunshine. The dance intercamp saw Fernwood Cove placing well in all categories and the girls returned with a spring in their step and proud stories of achievement to share.

As their weary heads hit the pillow to rest after another incredible day, the rain is clearing and a misty fog is setting in to cover the beautiful landscape with a magical feel. The fog will clear to leave a fresh canvas for the new day tomorrow
