Fernwood Cove – 7/10Posted by on July 12, 2016

Sunday’s Blog was written by 3rd Grade Bunk Mom and Climbing Counselor, Danni.

A little liquid sunshine graced Fernwood Cove today leading to a much needed lazy morning of rainy day activities to recharge our batteries and relax.

The morning began with a breakfast of pancakes and hot chocolate before we moved into the chick to watch Inside Out, a movie choice that was inspired by the 7th Grade services on Friday.

Following this, we played Dutch auction, in which the girls had to present various item’s to the counselor’s leading the game by lining up and passing the item under/over their head. Lunch today was chicken pot pie, followed by cake for dessert as it was my camper’s birthday.

After lunch and rest hour, focuses resumed again. In climbing we started off with some warm up stretches before we started climbing. Today we had the harder walls (3, 4 and 5) set up for the girls to climb, with some of the holds having been changed around from the previous day to help develop the girls’ climbing technique on the wall and help them learn how to best use the holds on the wall.

For dinner it was Gourmet Sandwich Sunday! Following dinner everyone went to the chick for the night’s EP of Counselor Cabaret where we got to see fabulous staff performances and were surprised by some amazing hidden talents! My personal favorite performance was Kinglet Bunk mum Katelyn’s rendition of Hallelujah, which was incredible. Following the EP everyone went off to bed, excited for the next day of activities.
