Harry Potter Themed Carnival.Posted by on August 06, 2016

As the sun crept in on the wonderful day that was about to commence, campers were treated to their 2nd lazy Friday. Instead of the 7:15 wake-up call campers were left to sleep happily onwards. Normally campers would be making their way to the flag pole waiting for the day to commence at 7:50 whereas today was special as they were able to stroll up to the feeder in their funky pajamas or onesies at 8:30 to be fed yummy treats and to socialize with their friends.

The morning started with a belated flag raising to then be followed by 8th grade services with the topic being sisterhood. The Juniors and the rest of the camp dressed up all in white while the Juniors started the service singing Rachel Platten’s Stand by you. The services were filled with meaningful speeches about how their camp mates are now their own sisters and how much they valued each other.

Following Outdoor bunk time where each bunk has their own adventure outdoors and super scrumptious lasagna lunch, it was announced that the most amazing day was about to happen and that was Carnival! Extended rest hour was full of excitement and anticipation and the campers could not be more thrilled. This year’s theme for Carnival was Harry Potter, what a magical theme to have! When Carnival commenced the whole camp was transformed into different stations with the famous Slip and Slide being the platform 9 and ¾. The campers had the choice of having snow cones and candy floss as well as being able to discover what house in Harry Potter they belong to. The afternoon went by and it was an Extraordinary day.

For the evening meal the camp was able to enjoy yummy burgers which are a very special Fernwood Cove Favorite.

As the sun began to settle it was announced that the evening program was going to be the Talent Show! The night was filled with amazing acts which made us laugh and cry with delight as Fernwood Cove has a lot of Talent. All in all, Fernwood Cove had a very Extraordinary day and it couldn’t have been any better.
