Forever Grateful to the Fernwood Cove CommunityPosted by on November 12, 2020

It is during this time of the year, I like to take time and reflect on all things I am grateful for.  I hope you too will find the time to do the same.

Gift of Gratitude at Camp

For many years at camp, I have taught a class about meditation and mindfulness. I have sincerely enjoyed teaching this activity. On the first day of class, your daughter’s and I explore the gift of gratitude. Each camper is given a Gratitude Journal which she decorates and then writes five things to be most thankful for. During the week, at the start of each lesson, we continue writing down five things we are grateful for. Each summer I encourage your daughters to embrace this practice and incorporate it into their daily lives. This has helped me so much during the most challenging times of my life.

Gratitude for the Fernwood Cove Community

The things I am most grateful for is the Fernwood Cove Community. This Autumn signifies the 9th year since I suffered a spinal cord injury. The Fernwood Cove Community gathered and supported me and my family, during that challenging time.   With the combined support from  you, and using a practice of daily gratitude, I was able to get through.

As camp navigates through the current global pandemic, once again, it is our extended Fernwood Cove family who continue to help. Our current families, staff and Fernwood Cove Alumni, are what makes us all resilient and looking to the future.

Forever Grateful

As Thanksgiving approaches we will reflect on what we are grateful for. For insistence, at Fernwood Cove we are forever and deeply grateful to all who have reached out and supported us. We are thankful to all those who have helped, through patience, understanding and contributing financially. This support is a testament to the strength of community and the everlasting connection to a place with extraordinary memories and life changing experiences.

As you gather with family over the upcoming holiday, please share your gratitude and make a goal to be grateful for all the good in your life. If truly embraced, gratitude has the power to shape your life positively.  You will live fully and as the best version of yourself.
