Fernwood Cove campers depart during the morning of Sunday, July 14 (Session One) and Sunday, August 11 (Session Two).  Similar to arrival day, there are a variety of transportation options for campers.

Driven Home

If you are picking your daughter up at camp on Departure Day, we will provide you with a link which will allow you to book a specific time to arrive and collect your child and any baggage that will be traveling with you. For planning purposes, the window will be between 9AM –10AM. Details will be communicated via email a week prior to the end of camp. If you wish to take part in the self-guided visiting day option, there will be parking available elsewhere in camp form which you can then explore. As you depart, we will provide you a “rest stop” (if needed) to use the bathroom at our main office.

Flights Home

Fernwood Cove staff will transport campers to the airport (Portland Jetport or Boston Logan) for departing flights.  Campers will be chaperoned to the gate by the Fernwood Cove staff member who will remain at the gate until they receive confirmation that the camper’s plane is in the air.  

Campers flying home must arrange to have their luggage shipped home.  International campers are an exception to this policy and will carry their luggage with them throughout their travels.

Airport Drop-Off

Parents can opt for their camper to meet them at a designated location in the airport (Portland Jetport or Boston Logan) where they will continue on their travels with their parents.  

Campers meeting their parents for an airport drop-off must ship their luggage home via Camp Trucking or other third-party shipper.

Camp Buses

Fernwood Cove provides charter bus transportation to Boston Suburbs; Fairfield, CT; Portchester, NY; and Lincoln Center NYC.  Fernwood Cove staff will chaperone campers and snacks will be provided.  Specific details on each drop off location can be found HERE.

Campers taking camp buses home must ship their luggage home.
